Yes, it looks like the CDCache key is located in a few different places depending on versions, etc.

Thanks for your help.
I am using Windows 7 and office 2003.
The CDCache was under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\ Microsoft\Office\11.0\Delivery
I changed CDCache to 0 and tried again.
I received a different error message ‘error 1311: file not found c:\MSOCache\…\901E0409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9\M4561442.cab’
I copied the file to this folder and everything worked.

Hey Q…thanks for pointing that out.

The CDCACHE key won’t always be in the same place for everyone but it sure won’t be inside the Windows key so thanks for noticing that.

I’ve updated the solution above to reflect this.

The only thing is that when I was looking for the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Software Microsoft Windows Office 11.0 Delivery” I found it as “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Software Microsoft Office 11.0 Delivery”… so if you are looking for it, you can just skip the “Windows” folder to locate it! THANK YOU!!!

I actually have two folders with exactly the same numbers (the long string). I changed both of them to \ as directed but it didnt fix the problem. Should I delete one of the folders?
